The last week has been a rollercoaster for Roseanne Barr. The comedian had one of the top-rated shows on television, and was then given the boot for a “racist” tweet about former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett–even though she had apologized.
But now, it seems that things are looking up for Roseanne. A huge boycott of ABC is underway. Hundreds of thousands of people have vowed not to play the network’s shows anymore. Meanwhile, in just 48 hours over 100,000 have signed a petition for Roseanne’s show to be picked up by another network.
So far, no other networks have agreed to pick up the show–but the hope is not far-fetched. Roseanne broke records for viewership and was a massive moneymaker for ABC.
ABC is reportedly considering continuing the show without Roseanne, but that will likely just make fans even more angry. Roseanne was special because of the star character, and because it appealed to the common man. It was one of the few shows on television that normal Americans can actually relate to anymore.
Tim Allen’s hit show, “Last Man Standing,” was cancelled by ABC last year for no apparent reason other than it was too conservative. But after fans raised hell, it was picked up by Fox and will start its seventh season in the fall.
Now fans are wondering if Fox would be interested in picking up Roseanne as well.
The most infuriating part about Roseanne’s firing is how easily left-wingers get away with making equally offensive statements. Both Samantha Bee and Joy Reid have said comments worse than Roseanne’s, and both were forgiven and still have their jobs.
ABC allows the bats on The View to call Christians “mentally ill”, but they fired Roseanne at the first sign of controversy. Not only that, but ABC also employs Jimmy Kimmel, who openly mocks our First Lady’s accent. Somehow, the liberals on the network never suffer the consequences, but conservatives always do.
