Ready for a good laugh?
A video has surfaced of MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell going on an epic tirade, in a fit of anger over employees in the station’s control room apparently screwing up his earpiece feed.
O’Donnell recently was on the air doing an August 29th piece on Donald Trump’s visit to Texas in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The segment started out well enough, with O’Donnell neatly on script with the standard MSNBC Trump-bashing narrative. “Well, today President Trump visited Texas but he forgot to bring any empathy with him, but he did bring a hat. A hat that is for sale.”
The MSNBC host then stared into the camera for an uncomfortable pause, before the frustrated O’Donnell waved his hand at his headset and asked “What’s going on; why am I losing this?… Who’s asking for a Labor Day rundown in my ear?!”
O’Donnell made a perhaps unintentionally funny quip, “Someone in that control room is out of control!”
The problem seemingly fixed, O’Donnell continued with the liberal network’s story, “So the President went to Texas today and as Politico reports he did not meet a single storm victim, see an inch of rain, or get near a flooded street…” But soon, the problems with the control room re-emerged.
After another long pause, the frustrated O’Donnell said, “There’s insanity in the control room tonight.”
“You have insanity in my earpiece!”
At one point the network goes to a commercial break, and pounding can be clearly heard in the background. “Stop the hammering! Stop the hammering out there! Who’s got a hammer?!” an irate O’Donnell calls out, as he stood up from his chair to go see what was going on.
At this point the next three minutes or so show an enraged O’Donnell repeatedly cursing and wildly gesticulating, losing all composure.

Of course, it was probably only a matter of time before the outtakes from this unintentionally hilarious MSNBC segment went viral.
Between the woman talking into his earpiece about Labor Day and the hammering that drove him crazy, it was almost as if O’Donnell was being pranked!
Regardless, this behind-the-scenes look at Lawrence O’Donnell and dysfunction on the set at the arch-liberal network MSNBC is well worth a watch for the unintentional humor it provides.
