JUST IN: Legendary Country Singer Dies in Plane Crash

BREAKING: The country music world is devastated today. Troy Gentry, one-half of the famous country music duo Montgomery Gentry, was killed Friday in a helicopter crash in Medford, New Jersey. He was only 50 years old.

A second person was also reportedly killed in the crash. However, Eddie Montgomery was not on the helicopter when it crashed.

An upcoming Montgomery Gentry concert was cancelled in light of the tragic news.

The band also released a statement: “It is with great sadness that we confirm that Troy Gentry, half of the popular country duo, Montgomery Gentry, was tragically killed in a helicopter crash. Details of the crash are unknown. Troy Gentry’s family wishes to acknowledge all of the kind thoughts and prayers, and asks for privacy at this time.”

Almost every American is familiar with at least some of the group’s hit songs. They are most known for their radio hit “My Town.”
